Scooter Rental Questions

How do I book a rental scooter?

Easy! You can use our super friendly and intuitive online book system, simply head over our Scooter Booking Page and complete your details…the await your scooter delivery!

What is the minimum subscription period?
Our minimum rental period is 4 weeks. We provide free delivery and collection of your rental scooter within your subscription.
What is the difference between renting and a subscription?
Typically the biggest difference between a subscription and a contract is that a contract is more rigid, with minimal flexibility. Once you enter into a contract, your terms are generally fixed and until you are released from your contract, you are unable to request any changes.

A subscription allows the renter to adjust the conditions, or add value as their situation changes.

Our plan offers a low base rate, allowing you the option to reduce your excess, add another driver, or simply rent with us at the lower rate – you decide!

Our 30 day minimum rental period allows you the freedom to test your ride before entering into any long-term commitment. Want an upgrade after 8,000kms? No problem! Simply request a swap via our user-friendly online system and we’ll have a new scooter on its way.

How much do I pay and when?

Scooturu Rentals offer a very affordable plan at a base rate of just $110 per week. Should you prefer fortnightly payment, you can also select this option. Our plan is designed to accommodate you should you aim to rent for months at a time – the longer you drive, the more you save!

From here, you will build your own plan to suit your needs and your budget. We have a range of valuable add-on’s such as:

  • $5 add additional rider option.
  • $5 excess reduction from $3000 down to $1250 option.
  • $10 per week for a new bike every 8,000 kms subject to T&Cs. You will be guaranteed a new bike from the commencement of your rental period and every 8000kms hereafter.

Are the scooters insured?
Yes we provide full registration, CTP and full insurance for your safety.
Does the insurance policy cover me to user my Scooter for Food Delivery services, such as Uber Eats or Menulog?

Yes, we provide the relevant documentation you require for applying with UberEats, Menulog and other food delivery programs within 48 hours of delivery.

Will you come to me for servicing?

Yes we can come to you to do a service and general maintenance FREE of charge but will need minimum 24 hours to arrange our driver, except Saturday and Sunday. You can also come to the workshop Monday to Friday 8am-4pm.

Is there a charge for delivery of the scooter?

Once you complete our pre-rental process, we provide scooter delivery free of charge within Sydney Metro region, including Sutherland Shire, Hurstville, Kogarah and Rockdale.

Our team will confirm a time and date for delivery that suits you.

Are there any upfront costs?
Once you have subscribed with us, we require a refundable security bond to the amount of $200 to cover any potential damage to the scooter. On return, you will be refunded the bond within 3 business days, provided your invoices are all paid up to date and there is no more than minor wear and tear to the rental scooter.

We also collect the first week’s rent so you are always paid in advance. By enabling direct debit, you never need to worry about keeping track of your invoices. Just submit your details through our user-friendly platform and let our team do the rest!

When will I receive the bond back?
When the scooter is collected or dropped off, our technicians will complete an inspection and test ride. Once the scooter has passed the inspection, our accounts team will check that there are no outstanding invoices.

Once you have passed all inspections and reviews, we will make the transfer into your account. You will then see the refund in your account 2-3 days from here.

How much notice do I have to give when returning the scooter?
A minimum 48 hours notice is required when you wish to return your rental scooter.
What do I need to do if I breakdown or have an accident?
Should you have a breakdown or an accident on your Scooter, please notify us immediately. Our team will respond at the soonest possible time. In the meantime, please ensure you collect as much evidence of the incident as possible whilst still onsite – take photos, collect details of all parties involved.

For accidents, please ensure you get a reference number and contact details for the regulating authority attending the incident and advise us of all these details.

Please also fill in the accident/ breakdown form online within 24 hours of the incident having taken place.

Will I receive a replacement scooter if I breakdown or have an accident? And if so when?

This is subject to availability. Within 24-48 hours or notifying us you have had an accident or breakdown.

What documents do I need to start the subscription?
We require a 100 point ID check which will be cited and upload upon delivery or pick up.

For example, a combination of an Australian drivers licence, international licence, photocard ID and/or passport.

Is there a minimum age to subscribe?
Our minimum age for scooter rentals is 21 years of age and with at least 12 months driving experience.
What is included in my plan?
Here at Scooturu Rentals, we understand things change from day-today, so you need a plan that changes with you.

We provide an all-inclusive plan with the following:

  • Helmet included, with a range of sizes available
  • Large Phone holder, to suit your mobile device
  • Registration of the vehicle
  • Full insurance
  • Free delivery and pick up of scooter within the Sydney Metro region
  • Mobile maintenance and servicing included
  • Roadside assist subject to business hours and availability
  • Unlimited kms
